Montegriffo brothers fuel speculation of bigger fights ahead
Undefeated Gibraltar boxing prospects Kriss and Evan Montegriffo have quickly become two of the most talked-about names on the Rock — and now the buzz around their next move is growing louder.
Gibraltar boxing prospects – Kriss and Evan Montegriffo
Guided by Sunny Edwards
Both brothers turned professional on the same night earlier this year, delivering victories that showed off their different but equally effective styles. Kriss, campaigning at heavyweight, made a statement with a third-round TKO win over András Csomor, while younger brother Evan showed composure to outpoint Pal Olah over four rounds at super middleweight. The dual debut was described locally as a “triumphal entry” for Gibraltar’s homegrown talent.
Since then, the brothers have been building momentum under the guidance of former World Champion Sunny Edwards, who now manages their careers. And last week, speculation went into overdrive when the Montegriffos shared a photo with Matchroom Boxing CEO Frank Smith, hinting at possible ties with Eddie Hearn’s promotional powerhouse. Their caption — “the future looks bright” — was enough to spark chatter among fans that Matchroom may be taking notice.
Why Matchroom would matter
A deal with Matchroom would give the brothers access to larger cards in the UK and Europe, DAZN broadcast slots, and tougher opposition.
Kriss brings the kind of heavyweight power that always draws attention. Evan, at super middleweight, relies on a more technical approach but looks ready for bigger tests. Together, they make a marketable package: two unbeaten brothers aiming to put Gibraltar firmly on the boxing map.
Commercial backing
The brothers have also signed their first sponsorship deal. They are working with Eshkol, a digital marketing agency, to promote online gaming brands NeptunePlay and GeckoPlay. The partnership provides vital sponsorship backing that will help the brothers focus on training and competition while extending their profiles beyond the ring.
What’s next
For now, it’s only a photo and a few words. But in boxing, small signals often point to bigger moves. The Montegriffos have unbeaten records, a world-class manager, and growing interest around them. If Matchroom get involved, Gibraltar’s boxing brothers could find themselves moving from Gibraltar boxing prospects to the international spotlight very soon.
