Dzmitry Asanau vs. Francesco Patera Full Card Preview for April 10

Dzmitry Asanau (9-0, 4 KOs) and Francesco Patera (30-5, 11 KOs) will soon face each other in a 10-round lightweight clash.

Their bout headlines an Eye of the Tiger Management (EOTTM) card at the Casino de Montréal in Québec, Canada. Boxing fans in the country can catch the action live on Punching Grace. Those in the United States can do so with ESPN+. Across Latin America, it will also be broadcast on ESPN KnockOut.

Ahead of this April 10 card, Big Fight Weekend does a short preview of each bout scheduled to take place.

Dzmitry Asanau vs. Francesco Patera Full Card Preview

Dzmitry Asanau vs. Francesco Patera

Asanau may only have nine professional bouts on his record, but it is clear that his handlers are confident in his abilities. Facing him will be Patera, a two-time European lightweight champion. The Belgian has had 35 fights as a professional and has never been stopped. A win for Asanau would help him establish himself as a contender in the 135-lb division. For Patera, this is an opportunity to show that he still has what it takes to defeat talented fighters at lightweight.

Christopher Guerrero vs. Oliver Quintana

Christopher Guerrero (13-0, 8 KOs) is a Mexican-born Canadian who has shown in recent fights that he can knock people out. His opponent on Thursday will be Oliver Quintana (22-3, 16 KOs, 1 NC) who he will fight over 10 rounds in the welterweight division. Four of the last five of Guerrero’s fights have ended in stoppage. Quintana is fighting outside of México for the first time and will be looking to do whatever he can to halt Guerrero’s ascent.

Mary Spencer vs. Ogleidis Suarez

Mary Spencer (9-2, 6 KOs) will be making the first defence of her WBA super welterweight title against Ogleidis Suarez (31-5-1, 15 KOs). Previously, Terri Harper held the title but vacated it in September last year. As a result, Spencer received a promotion from interim to full titlist. Suarez has only had two fights in the past five years and is the kind of opponent that Spencer tends to knock out, so expect the Canadian to win by stoppage when they clash.

Jhon Orobio vs. Sebastian Aguirre

Jhon Orobio (12-0, 11 KOs) is among the most talented boxers currently based out of Canada. He continues his development in an eight-round super lightweight contest against Sebastian Aguirre (19-6, 12 KOs), an Argentinian who has had three fights in Canada so far. Though Aguirre lost all three of those bouts, he has only been stopped once and has proven to be quite durable in the past.

Alexandre Gaumont vs. Mathis Lourenço

Alexandre Gaumont (12-0, 8 KOs) is a Canadian middleweight who will continue his development on this card. He does so against Mathis Lourenço (13-5-3, 6 KOs) in an eight-round clash. Fun fact: Lourenço’s professional boxing debut saw him draw against Bruno Surace, who now holds a win over Jaime Munguía.

Moreno Fendero vs. Mykola Vovk

Moreno Fendero (9-0, 7 KOs) will face Mykola Vovk (15-6, 9 KOs) in an eight-round super middleweight fight. Vovk has only had two fights in the past six years, both losses to undefeated fighters. This feels like a bout where Fendero continues his development and gets an impressive stoppage at the same time.

Wyatt Sanford vs. Shawn Archer

Update: A day prior to the event, EOTTM announced via press release that due to a medical issue to Shawn Archer, this fight has been postponed. A new fight date for Wyatt Sanford will be announced in the coming weeks according to the press release.

Wyatt Sanford represented Canada at the Paris Olympics and left France with a bronze medal. He later signed a promotional deal with EOTTM and is now set to make his professional debut against fellow Canadian Shawn Archer (2-5, 2 KOs). This will be a four-round contest and a chance to see a Canadian Olympic medalist in action. This could very well be the start of a promising professional career.

Erik Israyelyan vs. Richard Bernath

Also set to make his professional boxing debut is Erik Israyelyan, a 20-year-old Armenian now based in Canada. He will do so in a four-round bout against Hungary’s Richard Bernath (0-1, 0 KOs). Israyelyan was a gold medalist at the 2022 IBA Youth World Boxing Championship. Like Sanford, this could also be the start of a promising professional career for him.

Be sure to return to Big Fight Weekend for more on this card headlined by Dzmitry Asanau and Francesco Patera.
