Allen (24-7-2, 19 KOs) was last seen in action on May 17, 2025, delivering a career-best performance, stopping Johnny Fisher in round five of their rematch.

Makhmudov (20-2, 19 KOs) returned to winning ways, defeating Ricardo Brown by first-round TKO, which followed his loss to Guido Vianello.

While speaking to BoxingScene, Allen was asked to explain the level gap between Johnny Fisher and Makhmudov: “League 2 to probably bottom of the prem, being honest. League 2’s a very good standard,” said Allen.

“He’s like probably bottom of the Prem. It’s a big jump. It’s a hard fight. I think I’m an underdog. I think, in boxing people’s eyes, I’m a big underdog. The wider public, obviously…they all think I’m gonna win, because they like me, which is great.

“But I know the crack. I’ve never won at this level. Been beat up a few times at this level. It’s a big ask,” said Allen.

“Will the training be able to show that I am good enough? I don’t know,” added “The White Rhino.”
