On September 13, Canelo Alvarez and Terence Crawford will collide at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas for the undisputed super middleweight championship. This huge event will stream on Netflix to its 300 million subscribers. Turki Alalshikh had teased big plans for this Sela/Riyadh Season card, and The Ring Magazine has reported that Jarrell Miller vs Michael Hunter has been added to the Canelo vs Crawford fight week festivities.

Jarrell Miller vs Michael Hunter Set for September 11 in Las Vegas

The excitement surrounding Canelo vs Crawford is beginning to intensify as we approach fight week. Turki Alalshikh previously teased: “the undercard will be between two or three days.“  

“We now have more than 20 fights to do on the undercard. Ninety-five percent of this card is talent and people around the world have a very big chance to be a star in the future,” added Alalshikh.

It has now been revealed that Jarrell Miller vs Michael Hunter (24-1-2, 17 KOs) will headline a September 11 card during the Canelo vs Crawford fight week. It appears that Jared Anderson was the original intended opponent for Miller (26-1-2, 22 KOs), but “Big Baby” will still get his shot and headline against Hunter as part of the fight week festivities, with more fights and details expected to come over the coming days and weeks.

Since Miller’s fight fell through against Fabio Wardley, he has been talking a lot on social media, aiming barbs at Deontay Wilder and Oleksandr Usyk.

Miller performed well in this last fight against Andy Ruiz and deserved the win in many people’s eyes. The reality remains that Miller has not won since a far-from-straightforward victory against Lucas Browne in 2023.

Hunter, on the other hand, has won four consecutive fights since a disappointing draw against Jerry Forrest. Hunter suffered, like many during the COVID years, when he was largely inactive. Hunter will look to use his speed and elusiveness to pick his shots against the aggressive come-forward Miller. It’s an intriguing clash of styles, but one that is worth watching.
