Three Intriguing Fights In Europe We’re Waiting For in 2025
The boxing schedule for the first half of 2025 is full of great fights, with many more in the negotiation phase. Since the involvement of Turki Alalshikh and Riyadh Season, we have been blessed with many memorable matchups. With the US top online sportsbook taking notice, here are three exciting fights to look forward to in Europe.
Boxing Schedule: Exciting Fights to Watch in Europe in 2025
Boxing Schedule: Conor Benn vs Chris Eubank Jr – April 26
Benn (23-0, 14 KOs) vs Eubank Jr (34-3, 25 KOs) is set for April 26 at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The build-up to this fight has been full of animosity, and fight night should provide plenty of fireworks. The opening presser between the two did not let us down for drama, with Eubank Jr slapping Benn across the face with an egg, with chaos soon ensuing. This incident only added spice to this already fierce rivalry.
Following the calmer second presser, Benn was asked by Fight Hub TV how he thinks the April 26 fight with Eubank Jr will play out: “I believe I’ll get the stoppage within the first four rounds.”
The fight between these two fierce rivals will be the main event of the first-ever Ring Magazine UK card.
Eubank was last seen defeating Kamil Szeremeta. Benn is returning, following the decision by the UK Anti-Doping and British Board of Boxing Control to not appeal the decision to lift his suspension.
Josh Taylor vs Ekow Essuman – May 24
In the boxing schedule for May, we have former undisputed super lightweight world champion Josh Taylor (19-2, 13 KOs), who will return to action on May 24 at The SSE Hydro in Glasgow, making his debut in the welterweight division against the dangerous Ekow Essuman (21-1, 8 KOs). The Scottish fighter will be eager to return to winning ways after losing his last two fights against Teofimo Lopez and Jack Catterall. Essuman has defeated two undefeated fighters recently, with a final round TKO win over Owen Cooper, before a tough, entertaining majority decision victory against Ben Vaughan.
It remains to be seen what desire is left in Taylor, but he will not have an easy night against Essuman, a come-forward fighter who will make the Scottish fighter work for any success.
When talking at the Glasgow presser for this fight, Taylor made it clear the hunger still burns bright inside him: “I’m looking to become a force at welter. I’ve never shied away from tough fights, what a great one it’s going to be with Ekow. This will show I’m ready for the big fights at welter, may the best man win, have a good training camp and see you soon.
“I believe I beat everyone at my best. When I’m firing on all cylinders, I beat every fighter in the world.”
When asked to predict the fight, the Scot said: “It’ll be a Josh Taylor win.”
“I wouldn’t be surprised if I get him out of there early but we’ll see, it could be a 12-round boxing match. But a Taylor win.”
Anthony Cacace vs Leigh Wood – May 10
Anthony Cacace (23-1, 8 KOs) vs Leigh Wood (28-3, 17 KOs) will take place at the Nottingham Arena in Nottingham on May 10 for the IBO super featherweight title. Cacace will be full of confidence after his two Riyadh Season wins against Joe Cordina and Josh Warrington. Wood will return after over a year out of the ring since his dramatic come-from-behind win against Warrington on October 7, 2023.
Despite what his knockout record suggests, Cacace can punch and Leigh Wood has shown he doesn’t lie down as seen with his brilliant come-from-behind wins against Michael Conlan and Josh Warrington.
Wood has not fought since his win over Warrington, more than a year ago. At the opening press conference, he seemed unworried by inactivity: “I’m extremely dedicated to the sport, always been that kid who looks at what I can do rather than what I can’t, never feel sorry for myself. I’ve been in the gym and don’t spar outside camps anyway, it’s just me living the lifestyle and you’re backing the wrong horse if you think otherwise,” said the Nottingham native.
This matchup could be the one in the boxing schedule that gives us the most fireworks.
These are just three of the many fights on the boxing schedule in the coming months. With Queensberry now on DAZN, we can expect even more intriguing matchups than ever in the rest of 2025 and beyond.
