The Last Three Opponents of Amanda Serrano

On Friday, July 11Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3 will headline a historic all-female fight card at Madison Square Garden. Serrano will be eager to get her first win against Taylor, as the Irish fighter looks to make it a clean sweep. In preparation for this historic card, we bring you the last three opponents of Serrano.

Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano Set for July 11

Katie Taylor Rematch – L 10,  November 15, 2024

Serrano’s most recent bout was her rematch with the Irish hero Taylor at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, TX. And, the bout was historic. Streamed live on Netflix, as the co-feature fight to the Jake Paul-Mike Tyson main event and drawing over 70,000 fans plus tens of millions watching globally, it became one of the most-watched women’s sporting events ever.

The fight itself was a brutal, intensely competitive ten-round battle, just as their first epic match-up was at Madison Square Garden in May 2022. In the sequel, Serrano landed 324 punches to Taylor’s 217, showcasing her volume and power advantage.

Serrano suffered a deep cut over her right eye from head clashes, and although Taylor was docked a point in Round 8, all three judges still scored the fight 95–94 in Taylor’s favour. It’s a decision still widely criticised as controversial, with many media and fans believing that Serrano had done more than enough to get the verdict, and with Netflix’s play-by-play man, Mauro Ranallo, calling ita robbery.”

Despite the official loss, Serrano’s performance served to reaffirm her elite status and ignited calls for a trilogy bout with Taylor, now scheduled for July 11, 2025, back at Madison Square Garden.

Stevie Morgan – KO 2,  July 20, 2024

After the postponement of the Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson Fight last year, Paul scrambled to save the overall fight card and ended up headlining against bare-knuckle fighter Mike Perry at the Amalie Arena in Tampa, FL.  Serrano’s rematch with Taylor was also put on hold as the co-feature fight to Paul-Tyson later in the year. On this night, she delivered a dominant performance against the little-known Morgan.

The bout ended in the second round via technical knockout with Serrano dropping Morgan and then finishing her with a barrage of punches, marking her first knockout victory since 2021. Serrano showed speed and impressive power, proving that her knockout capabilities remained sharp. The elite multi-division champion had set the stage for her next massive showdown with Taylor.

Danila Ramos – W 12, October 27, 2023

In October 2023, Amanda Serrano faced Mexico’s Danila Ramos at the Carib Royale Resort in Orlando, FL, in a historic title defence for her. This, as she and Ramos fought a 12-round championship bout, which most sanctioning bodies and American boxing commissions had outlawed due to safety concerns. Nonetheless, Serrano continued her impressive ways with an easy win. She controlled the bout, showcasing her power and technique to secure a decisive victory, and a unanimous decision rout by three scores of 120-108..

This win maintained her momentum at featherweight and fine-tuned her skills for the higher-profile bouts that followed in 2024.

Summary

Over her last three bouts, Amanda Serrano continues to showcase her evolution as a world-class boxer: a commanding unanimous win over Ramos in 2023, a quick and emphatic TKO over Morgan in mid-2024, and then fighting the thrilling, but breathtaking, career-defining second war against Taylor in November 2024.

Even in defeat that night, Amanda Serrano emerged with global respect and is regarded as one of the greatest female champions. Thus, setting the stage for a historic trilogy with Taylor.

Her relentless work rate, knockout power, and warrior mentality continue to cement her legacy as one of the most memorable female fighters of the modern era.
