Will Terence Crawford make most of big stage?

Unbeaten WBO Welterweight Champion Terence Crawford is headlining again Saturday night at Madison Square Garden in hopes that a larger fight and payday will come his way in 2020.

We explore Saturday night’s matchup and also Crawford’s prospects for the future on the latest Big Fight Weekend Podcast:

Up first is senior writer for BigFightWeekend.com, Marquis Johns. Marquis and I recap last weekend’s unified heavyweight title unanimous-decision win by Anthony Joshua over Andy Ruiz in Saudi Arabia.

Joshua did what he had to do to recapture the belts, but Marquis and I are in agreement that the fight was anything but exciting. What does the future hold for Joshua, including battling either Kubrat Pulev or Oleksandr Usyk in his next fight?

Marquis also has thoughts on Crawford vs. “Mean Machine” Saturday night and the co-feature of Teofimo Lopez against Richard Commey for the IBF Jr. Lightweight title, which may be the best fight on the card at the Garden.

Next up on the podcast is Keith Idec, senior writer from Boxingscene.com. Keith also has his thoughts on Joshua-Ruiz and also, covered the Jermall Charlo 7th round TKO of Dennis Hogan last Saturday night in Brooklyn. Charlo retained his WBC middleweight Championship and is looking for bigger fights in 2020.

Idec will also be on hand the Crawford-Mean Machine Battle at the Garden Saturday night and has insight and thoughts on the future for Crawford, as well.

Finally a member of the media that may know Terence Crawford the best is Tony Boone, who formerly wrote extensively about Crawford and covered his fights for the Omaha World Herald newspaper. Boone gives his insight and analysis as to what may be next for Crawford in 2020. And, he also tells some outstanding stories about Crawford’s background in Omaha and his competitive nature.

As always, make sure you subscribe the Big Fight Weekend podcast wherever you download your favorite ones at iTunes, Spotify, Google podcasts, Etc.!
