Tim Tszyu recent form
2024 was a tough year for Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs), suffering back-to-back defeats against Sebastian Fundora and Bakhram Murtazaliev. The following year began with a confidence-boosting stoppage victory against Joseph Spencer. The Australian was then comprehensively beaten in the Fundora rematch, before comfortably beating Anthony Velazquez by unanimous decision. It’s imperative for Tszyu to impress against Nurja before moving on to the rumoured showdown with Errol Spence Jr.
Denis Nurja recent form
Nurja (20-0, 9 KOs) travels to Australia as a huge underdog but an unknown quantity. His best wins have come against Kiryl Samadurau and Jose Espinoza. Tszyu is a huge step up in quality for the Albanian fighter. Nurja is technically sound and picks his punches well.
Tim Tszyu vs Denis Nurja prediction
This is largely seen as a warm-up fight for Tszyu before he’s expected to take on Spence Jr later this year. Nurja, despite being undefeated, doesn’t seem to have enough power to keep the Australian off him.
Tszyu is a pressure fighter who times his punches impressively, while carrying power. We expect Tszyu to gain the stoppage win inside six rounds.
