Jake Paul’s MVP Announce Surprise Signing of Former World Champion
Most Valuable Promotions, led by Jake Paul and Nakisa Bidarian, continue to make their mark on the boxing world. In recent months, MVP have signed several top female fighters, including Ellie Scotney and Shadasia Green. On July 29, they announced five new female recruits, among them, former bantamweight world champion Shannon Courtenay.

Shannon Courtenay Joins MVP in Shock Move
The work of MVP has helped usher in a new era for women’s boxing, recently promoting the all-female fight card headlined by Katie Taylor vs Amanda Serrano 3.
The growth of MVP shows no signs of slowing down with the announcement of five new signings with Yesica Nery Plata, Desley Robinson, Jasmine Artiga, Sa’Rai Brown-El and the surprise signing of ex-world champion Shannon Courtenay (9-3, 3 KOs).

“The Baby Face Assassin” quickly rose through the professional ranks, resulting in her winning the vacant WBA bantamweight title, defeating Australia’s Ebanie Bridges, who also recently joined MVP. Weight problems and inactivity have dogged her in recent years, which has seen Courtenay lose two out of her last 4 fights. Although the 32-year-old did win her last fight on March 14 this year, beating Bec Connolly 60-54.
Revealing her excitement at joining MVP, Courtenay said: “My main focus is becoming a two-time world champion andwith the backing of MVP I know I can go on to winning more titles.
“Women’s boxing was beginning to get forgotten about again, but then MVP have come along, ripped up the script, and made it bigger than ever. I can’t wait to get amongst it!”
