On Saturday, July 12, Shakur Stevenson (23-0, 11 KOs) will defend his WBC lightweight title against William Zepeda (33-0, 27 KOs) on The Ring III fight card at Louis Armstrong Stadium in Queens. The entire card will be broadcast live on DAZN PPV. Stevenson-Zepeda has been rumoured for sometime, and the winner will seemingly move on to bigger opportunities. Ahead of this intriguing card, Stevenson has appeared on the Ariel Helwani Show and revealed his pound-for-pound top three.

Terence Crawford Tops the List

When asked by Ariel Hewani who his top 3 pound-for-pound are: “I’ll go with Bud Crawford. I like Bivol. I don’t think people give him credit. He beat two of the biggest names in boxing (Canelo and Artur Beterbiev),” said Shakur. “He dominated both of them fights to me.

“Third, ima a go with (Oleksandr) Usyk.”

“Usyk, I like Usyk,” added Stevenson.

When asked if he would omit (Naoya) Inoue, he said: “I just think with Inoue, he had that one fight with Cool Boy Steph (Stephen Fulton), and he did good that fight, he looked good. After that fight, I just feel like

“They crucify me for fighting no-name fighters, people that people don’t know. I feel like he kinda done the same thing, so.”

“If he beats that guy (Junto Nakatani), oh yeah, imma definitely put him in,” said Stevenson.
