Eddie Hearn Reveals His Possible Plans for Shakur Stevenson
Shakur Stevenson to Attend Ennis vs. Avanesyan
In the interview with Fight Hub TV, Hearn confirmed that Stevenson, will be attending the “Boots” Ennis vs. David Avanesyan fight at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. With the Newark fighter now a promotional free agent, following his win against Artem Harutyunyan, attention now turns to what comes next for the WBC champion.
Hearn spoke positively about the talents of Shakur, and made it clear what his plans would be for the undefeated Newark fighter: “I’ve done a much better job than Top Rank in promoting him over the last 12 months.”
He continued: “William Zepeda, maybe a move to 140 to fight a Liam Paro or another champion at 140, and then look to other companies to do a co-promotional deal and a co-platform deal.”
The Matchroom promoter added: “It really will come down to if Tank and PBC, if they want the Shakur Stevenson fight because that is a very, very, very risky fight for Tank, and he has to come through Lomachenko first.”
The Future for Shakur Stevenson
In a recent interview with Dan Rafael, Stevenson expressed what he’s looking for from his next promotional deal: “I think big fights is mainly the thing that I’m looking for. I want to be in big fights because I want a chance to prove to the world, to show who I am as a fighter but honestly, it’s hard to think about that kind of stuff with what’s going on right now and I’m trying to like stay within a moment and focus on Artem. We can talk about it but it ain’t there yet. I mean you know it will be better interviewing me after the Artem fight and then I can strategically tell you.”
With the fight against Harutyunyan now done, attention now turns to who Stevenson will choose as his next promoter.
