Former GGG trainer breaks down Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman
On March 28, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman headlines a Premier Boxing Champions Pay-Per-View fight card, promoted by TGB Promotions and Sampson Boxing. Fundora’s WBC super welterweight world title will be on the line.
As we edge closer to fight night, the renowned former trainer of Gennady Golovkin, Abel Sanchez, has broken the fight down for Fight Hub TV.
Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman: Abel Sanchez weighs in on March 28
Breaking down Sebastian Fundora vs Keith Thurman, Sanchez said:
“Keith, for me, has been too inactive as of late. He’s had several years off a couple of times, three times. I think that’s going to hold him back in this fight. He’s getting a little older. He’s 35, 36, somewhere there. Fundora seems to be getting better, not much better, but getting better as a champion. I see a tough fight for Fundora, but I see Fundora winning it.
“I don’t see Sebastian having a dramatic knockout over Keith Thurman. I think Keith Thurman is going to go 12 rounds, and if it gets stopped, it’d just be in the corner, just like Nonito Donaire (vs Riku Masuda) the other night. You know, there’s a time when it’s over, and you fight a guy that’s that much better or that much fresher than you at that moment, and you stop a fight, so the corner could have a lot to do with it.
“Keith’s corner could have a lot to do with it, or it’s a decision. I’d say about a five or six point decision for Fundora.”
