Ryan Garcia Drops Major Announcement Ahead of May 2 Fight
Ryan Garcia Welcomes New Addition
Ryan Garcia announced via his X account that he will work with Derrick James for this camp. This announcement follows the news that Eddy Reynoso would not be training Garcia or Teofimo Lopez – and would be concentrating on his fighters who are due to appear on the May 3 card in Riyadh.
Ryan Garcia was last seen in action, beating Devin Haney, and scoring multiple knockdowns in a career-best performance that shocked the world. “Kingry” behaved erratically before the Haney fight, which included missing weight. Chaos soon ensued after the fight with news breaking that Garcia had failed a VADA pre-fight and post-fight drug test, with Ostarine found in his urine.
Following the news of the failed tests, it was revealed that the fight had been declared a no-contest – with “Kingry” accepting a one-year suspension retroactive to the fight date. He also agreed to forfeit his base salary of over $1 million.
Ahead of Garcia vs Romero, Tim Bradley recently revealed his prediction to Fight Hub TV and said: “I think Ryan’s gonna catch him with that left hook and it’s gonna be night night.”
Attention now turns to May 2, as the boxing world wonders which version of Ryan Garcia will show up, and what difference Derrick James will make.
