O’Shaquie Foster Eyes Super Featherweight Unification After Conceição Triumph

On Saturday, November 2, at the Turning Stone Resort Casino, Verona, NY, O’Shaquie Foster (23-3, 12 KOs) defeated Robson Conceição (19-3-1, 9 KOs, 1 NC) by a split decision to win the WBC super featherweight title, with the judges scorecards reading 115-113 for Conceição, while the other two saw it 115-113 for Foster. “Ice Water” held the title before controversially losing to Conceição via split decision earlier this year. Their second fight headlined a Top Rank card, with fight fans in the United States catching the action on ESPN+. Those in Canada were able to do so with TSN+, while UK fans could watch on Sky Sports+. Following the decision, Foster quickly addressed what he wanted to happen next.

O’Shaquie Foster Next Fight: Targets Navarrete-Valdez Winner

Foster’s Next Move: Eyeing Unification with Navarrete or Valdez

Talking to ESPN’s Mark Kriegel straight after his victory, the Texan fighter said: “I want the winner of [Emanuel] Navarrete and Oscar Valdez,” with Valdez and Navarette set to rematch for the WBO super featherweight title next month.

Foster was then asked: “You’re going to be in Glendale?” He answered without hesitation: “I’m going.” He added: “I’ll be there.”

Navarrete will look to confirm his dominance over Valdez when they meet again on Dec. 7. The last time they fought, he won by unanimous decision, with the judges scorecards reading 119-109, 118-110 and 116-112. “Vaquero” will be eager to return to winning ways, having drawn with Robson Conceição and suffering a split decision loss to Denys Berinchyk. Valdez won his last fight by TKO against Liam Wilson.
