‘That guy’s a real problem’: Joe Rogan praises British fighter
Moses Itauma (13-0, 11 KOs) has quickly made a name for himself in the heavyweight division, a reputation strengthened when he brutally stopped Dillian Whyte (31-4, 21 KOs) in one round at the ANB Arena in Riyadh on August 16.
This eye-opening performance had many wondering if Itauma would challenge Usyk, and his destruction of Whyte has also got the attention of legendary UFC commentator Joe Rogan. On the Joe Rogan Experience (Fight Companion) podcast, Rogan discussed the promise of Itauma with his guests Gordon Ryan, Brendan Schaub, and Bryan Callen.
Joe Rogan Praises Moses Itauma after Dillian Whyte destruction
Itauma got many talking in 2024, but in 2025, the whole of the boxing world is standing up and taking notice.
Wins over Mariuz Wach and Demsey McKean led Itauma into 2025, where he has stopped Mike Balogun and Whyte.
His speed and fight-ending power has seen many people tip the 20-year-old to reach the pinnacle of the sport.
Rogan was full of praise for Itauma on his podcast: “I’ll tell you who’s the real f***ing deal, Moses Itauma. Do you know who the mother f***er is? that 20 year old heavyweight.
“Bro, did you see what he did to Dillian Whyte? Bro, he’s a problem. That guy’s a real problem. 20 years old. He’s just slightly older than (Mike) Tyson was when he won the title, so he can’t be the youngest guy to ever win the title. This mother f***er’s so fast. He moves like a middleweight.”
The future for Moses Itauma
Recently, Tony Bellew spoke to Pundit Arena and revealed he believes Andy Ruiz would be the “perfect fight” for Itauma:
“Moses has got to go past six rounds. No one can be picking Moses against the top-level heavyweights if he hasn’t been past six rounds. I don’t doubt how good he is. I think he’s absolutely exceptional.
“But you will never know how good he is until he goes past six rounds. I thought Andy Ruiz would be the perfect fight for him. I think Andy Ruiz throws enough shots. He comes to win. He ain’t lying down for nobody. I think that would be a really good fight to make.”
Itauma’s promoter, Frank Warren, has revealed that the 20-year-old will return to action on December 13 in Manchester against an opponent to be confirmed.
Whoever is next for the hot prospect, fireworks seem certain. The next 12 months look set to be memorable for the Chatham fighter.
