Manny Pacquiao Has No Doubt When Asked About Potential Gervonta Davis Fight
Manny Pacquiao will make his much-publicised return to professional boxing on July 19 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, when he takes on current WBC welterweight champion Mario Barrios (29-2-1, 18 KOs). Their fight will be the headline bout on a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view fight card. Ahead of fight night, Pacquiao spoke to members of the media, including Fight Hub TV, where he gave an intriguing response when asked about a potential fight against Gervonta Davis.
Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39 KOs) was last seen in action in 2024 during an exhibition bout against Rukiya Anpo. It wasn’t the kind of performance that “Pac Man” fans hoped for, as the Filipino legend was outboxed for much of the fight.
Since that underwhelming showing, he has announced his return to professional boxing, sparking outrage among many who feel he shouldn’t be competing at this level at 46 years old. What Pacquaio has left in the tank remains to be seen, especially considering his last professional fight was a disappointing loss to Yordenis Ugas in 2021.
When asked about a potential fight against Tank, Pacquiao did not hesitate: “I like that. I mean, I like that but, you know, let’s finish this one because this one (Barrios) is a taller champion like that.
“So, I have a lot of thing(s) to do in training camp.”
