‘Knockout Chaos’ Fight Card Receives Vital Boost

On Friday, March 8, “Knockout Chaos” will be here, and the stacked card will surely provide plenty of fireworks. One fight was added late to the card, with Magomed Kurbanov (25-0, 13 KOs) and Israil Madrimov (9-0-1, 6 KOs) set to clash for the WBA junior middleweight title. Due to a medical issue – it was reported that the fight was off – however, it now appears that the fight is back on, with Jalol Akhmedov reporting it back on – as has Jake Donovan from Ring Magazine.

Madrimov-Kurbanov Back On

‘Knockout Chaos’ Boost

Following the WBA decision to reclassify Jermell Charlo as champion in recess, it was soon announced the long-awaited clash between Madrimov and Kurbanov would take place. Many fight fans were happy when the fascinating bout was added to the Joshua-Ngannou undercard – but following an issue with a pre-fight medical scan conducted by the BBBofC (event regulator), Madrimov was reportedly ruled out.

Both fighters were not present at the grand arrivals ceremony on Monday, as the Uzbek-born fighter waited for the results of a second MRI exam. Those results have now received an extensive review and Madrimov has been cleared by the British Boxing Board of Control to fight as planned. Boxingscene also got an update from Robert Smith the general secretary of the British Boxing Board of Control, who said: “The fight is on.” He continued: “Why would it not be on? He has not failed a medical – the fight is on.”

It’s great news for the card this is back on and credit to all those involved for ensuring this fascinating bout will go ahead as planned.

Madrimov is excellent at controlling the distance in his fights while varying his attacks. Kurbanov will look to keep the fight at a distance as much as possible, but the variation from the Uzbek fighter may prove the difference. Who do you think wins?
