On Friday, March 7 at the Royal Albert Hall in London, Lauren Price (9-0, 2 KOs) dominated against Natasha Jonas (16-3-1, 9 KOs) by a unanimous decision to unify the WBA, WBC and IBF welterweight world titles. The main event between Price and Jonas on the BOXXER Promotions card was a fitting finale to a great fight card shown live on Sky Sports. Following this impressive win, attention quickly turned to what could be next for the Welsh star and she made it clear the fight she wants next.

Price took control from the first meaningful exchange, showcasing staggering hand speed that Jonas struggled to handle. The Welsh fighter impressed with her front-foot pressure, backing Jonas up and dictating the tempo.

While Jonas had brief moments of success, they were fleeting, as Price quickly adjusted and forced the Liverpudlian onto the back foot once again. It was no surprise to hear the judge’s scorecards, which read 98-93, 100-90 and 98-92 all in favour of the Newport native.

Following their controversial fight first fight on September 27, 2024, where Mikaela Mayer defeated Sandy Ryan by majority decision (95-95, 96-94 and 97-93), there was an immediate call for a rematch due to Ryan being shockingly doused in paint outside her hotel on fight night. Their rematch will now happen on March 29 in Las Vegas and Price wants the winner for the undisputed title.

“100 percent I want the winner next to go back to Wales. The winner of that (fight) in Cardiff,” Price said. “Tasha’s the best in the division. I honestly believe I can become undisputed and I want to follow in the footsteps of Katie Taylor, Olympic and undisputed world champion.”
