Keyshawn Davis makes bold Devin Haney callout at Top Rank/DAZN Press Conference

On January 31 at Madison Square Garden, Keyshawn Davis (14-0, 10 KOs) returned to action at super lightweight, becoming the first professional fighter to stop Jamaine Ortiz (20-3-1, 10 KOs). Davis has had his problems, but he returned in style, scoring two knockdowns in a dream-like first performance at 140 pounds.

At the Top Rank/DAZN press conference, announcing their new multi-year rights deal, Keyshawn Davis delivered a clear message to Devin Haney (33-0, 15 KOs).

Top Rank and DAZN announce multi-year rights deal

DAZN and Top Rank have announced a landmark multi-year partnership that will bring Top Rank’s talented fighters and the company’s historic fight library to DAZN worldwide.

Top Rank Chairman Bob Arum reflected on the new partnership: “Since the day I started Top Rank 60 years ago, our focus has been simple: sign the best fighters, develop them into champions and make the best fights possible. DAZN’s position as the global home of boxing makes this a natural partnership, and I’m confident it will be tremendously beneficial for fighters, fans and the future of the sport.”

Keyshawn Davis calls out Devin Haney

Davis is one of Top Rank’s most talented fighters, and, appearing at the press conference to announce the new deal with DAZN, he called out a rival fighter:

“I would love to fight Devin Haney, for sure. I would love to fight him. I think we all saw the video when Bill (Haney) told me to stand on my word, before I fought Jamaine Ortiz, and I told my manager, J Prince, I said ‘J, after I knock Jermaine out, you know they’re gonna be scared to fight me.’

“He said, ‘Well, I feel you, Keyshawn, let’s just get the job done.’ I said, ‘We’re gonna get it done, but you know they’re gonna be scared to fight me, right?’ So, I knocked him out, and we never heard anything from him since the fight. I ain’t really heard nothing from nobody since the fight.

“Hopefully, DAZN and Top Rank can get somebody credible in the ring with me because it’s that time.”
