Joseph Parker Hilariously Calls Out Oleksandr Usyk on Social Media

At Wembley Stadium on July 19, Oleksandr Usyk once again showed his ability, defeating Daniel Dubois to become a two-time undisputed heavyweight champion. As speculation around Usyk’s next move continues, potential opponent Joseph Parker has posted a hilarious callout video on his Instagram.

Usyk’s Latest Win at Wembley Stadium Against Daniel Dubois

Joseph Parker Targets Usyk with Comedic Callout

Usyk was not to be denied against Dubois, as the Ukrainian started on the front foot, timing his punches impressively. Dubois tried to back Usyk up, but the Ukrainian was far too slick for the Brit, stopping him in the fifth round courtesy of a big left hand.

At the post-fight press conference, Frank Warren was asked who he would like to face Usyk next: His [Usyk’s] first defence of his title is the WBO belt and that will be against Joe Parker. So that again would be a great fight, said Warren.

David Higgins, Parker’s New Zealand-based promoter revealed there has been no negotiations between Team Usyk and Team Parker: Last time I spoke to Frank Warren [who promotes Parker in the UK] there had been no engagement. That is what I was told, a couple of days ago, Higgins told Sky Sports.

“It’s boxing, anything can happen. You don’t rule anything in or out really, but I think Usyk would have engaged by now in a discussion or a negotiation if he wanted to retain and defend his undisputed heavyweight world titles,” Higgins added.

A-Ha Callout

When previously targeting certain fighters, Parker has called out various fighters, including Anthony Joshua. Parker is back again, and this time he is taking on the 1985 song from A-ha called “Take on Me.”

It’s a brilliant video and a respectful, yet hilarious way to call out a rival. A standout lyric in the video includes:

All the things that you say, yeah

Is it life or just to play my worries away?

You’re all the things I’ve got to remember

You’re shyin’ away

I’ll be comin’ for you anyway.

It remains to be seen if Usyk responds, but one thing’s clear, Joseph Parker has been hitting all the right notes in and out of the ring.
