‘He punches ridiculously hard’: Johnny Fisher discusses power of new stablemate

Johnny Fisher (15-1, 13 KOs) raced to 13-0, knocking out all but one of his opponents. Fisher then stepped up in class and faced the experienced Dave Allen, with “The Romford Bull” earning a razor-close split-decision win, before being brutally stopped in the rematch.

Fisher has moved to Mark Tibbs’ gym and is now a stablemate of Daniel Dubois. Speaking to SportsCasting Bets, Fisher gave an honest assessment of Dubois’ power.

Johnny Fisher gives honest assessment of Daniel Dubois’ power

Fisher has moved to Mark Tibbs’ gym following the Allen defeat, as has Dubois after his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, with Fisher set to return on December 6 against Herbert Matovu (9-1, 8 KOs).

Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) and Fisher have both shown fight-ending power, but Fisher recalled their previous spars, discussing how hard “Dynamite” hits:

“Yeah, he’s been in the gym. It’s been great having him around. I’ve sparred with him for years and he punches ridiculously hard. His jab is like a right hand. So when you get hit by the jab, you’re just praying that the right hand isn’t coming as well. But I sparred him many times when I’d only had one fight. I think at the time we were based in Mark Tibbs’ gym and Dubois was there for a bit.

Johnny Fisher discusses Dubois’ character and future

Discussing the character of Dubois and his impressive form before the Usyk defeat:

“He’s an amazing character as well and he’s really funny to be around. He’s a funny guy and he comes up to training in his Porsche pulls up and he just loves boxing. And he’s obviously gonna be in some mega fights and he had a great run against Filip Hrgovic, Jarrell Miller and Anthony Joshua, taking out some amazing names there. And then fights the best of the best in Usyk and comes up short, but he’s got a massive future ahead and he’ll get his hands on a world title again I’m sure,” added Fisher.
