Jaron Ennis vs Teofimo Lopez: Tim Bradley Warns Eddie Hearn to ‘Stay Away’

A rumoured Jaron Ennis vs Teofimo Lopez fight has gained momentum recently, after Eddie Hearn told FightHype.com: “We are in negotiations for Jaron to fight Teofimo.”  Tim Bradley, a multiple-weight world champion, spoke on his own YouTube channel about the potential matchup, sending a warning to Ennis’ promoter, Eddie Hearn.

Bradley Reveals Concern and Insight on the Potential Matchup

Lopez has flirted with the idea of moving up to welterweight, and it now appears those thoughts could be becoming a reality. With Hearn confirming negotiations for the fight have begun, and Turki Alalshikh speaking positively on the bout, it seems likely we could see this rumoured fight happen.

Bradley, despite praising both, mentioned a key attribute he feels could be the difference should the two meet: “The two most athletic fighters in the game. Damn, if they was to go head-to-head. Yeah, Boots got all the attributes, the height, the long arms. But you know who’s got the timing? That’s Teofimo Lopez,” said Bradley.

Jaron Ennis vs Teofimo Lopez: Athleticism is the Key

“Who was the last athletic guy that Boots fought? Karen? Don’t think that Boots gonna be able to outpunch him. Go back and watch the Claggett fight, Teofimo got lungs too. He threw almost 1000 punches in that fight.

Boots, all those lapses you be having, you ain’t gonna be able to have them with Teofimo Lopez. That dude is on his game. When his mind’s right, it’s hard to beat that dude. Explosive, smart, high IQ as well as you do.”

Jaron Ennis vs Teofimo Lopez (22-1, 13 KOs) would provide plenty of intrigue with “Boots” dazzling against Eimantas Stanionis last time out. Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) has slick footwork and is brilliant at punching from various angles. His power is also one of his best attributes. “The Takeoveralso possesses power, but when he’s at his best, it’s the sharpness in his punches that impresses the most.

Whether we see the fight or not remains to be seen, but Bradley was clear who he thinks would win: “I’m letting you know, Eddie Hearn if you’re listening, if you don’t want your guy to get beat, stay away from Teofimo Lopez.”
