Three Potential Next Opponents for Jaron ‘Boots’ Ennis

Jaron Ennis (34-0, 30 KOs) recently announced his move to super welterweight, following his dominating win over Eimantas Stanionis at welterweight, to become the unified champion. This new move by Ennis has led to speculation about who he will face next, with many wanting to see “Boots” vs Vergil Ortiz Jr. Here are three realistic next opponents for Jaron Ennis next fight.

Three Realistic Next Opponents for Jaron Ennis Next Fight

Jaron Ennis Next Fight: Uisma Lima

Ennis’ promoter Eddie Hearn recently appeared on iFL TV and confirmed that Matchroom have found an opponent for Jaron Ennis’ next fight: “People don’t want to fight Jaron Ennis. Luckily, we found someone who is very hungry and who is not afraid to take chances because he’s not a massive profile name. He’s not protecting anything. He’s coming to fight, and I need someone who is coming to test Boots at 154 before we go on the wildest run,” said Hearn.

A possible opponent could be Angolan-born fighter Uisma Lima (14-1, 10 KOs). He appears to fit the profile and is the current IBO super welterweight champion. He has a good chin and will look to walk ‘Boots’ down and make him uncomfortable. Ennis will look to utilise his impressive footwork and throw in combinations. Lima will unlikely have anything more than fleeting success against Ennis, who will be eager to move on to bigger opportunities.

Ermal Hadribeaj

Next up on our list of possible opponents for Jaron Ennis next fight is Ermal Hadribeaj (21-0-1, 8 KOs). The Albanian-born American is undefeated and the current WBC international champion. “The Sniper” moves his feet well, and his left hand is the money punch.

He showcases good upper body movement, which sees him slip opponents’ punches. Despite these attributes, if he is the selected opposition for Ennis, it’s difficult to see “The Albanian Sniper” causing Ennis too many problems.

Jesus Ramos

The last option is probably the least likely, and that’s American Jesus Ramos Jr (23-1, 19 KOs). Ramos has won his last three fights since his only loss against Erickson Lubin.

Ramos picks his punches impressively and carries plenty of power. He punches from varying angles and is adept at following up single shots with combinations. At 24, it still feels there is plenty of growth to come in Ramos, but I think Ramos is too far past the profile Hearn is describing. But should they meet, we believe Ennis will have too much for his fellow American.
