Jamaine Ortiz warns Keyshawn Davis ‘he’ll find out quickly’

On January 31, at Madison Square Garden in New York City, on the undercard of “The Ring 6,” Jamaine Ortiz (20-2-1, 10 KOs) will take on Keyshawn Davis (13-0, 9 KOs) at super lightweight. The event will be headlined by Teofimo Lopez vs Shakur Stevenson, with the event available on DAZN Pay-Per-View. Ortiz has spoken via a Boxlab Promotions press release, sending a warning to Davis.

Jamaine Ortiz vs Keyshawn Davis set for January 31

Ortiz warns Davis ahead of MSG clash

Davis was last seen in action, stopping Denys Berinchyk to win the WBO lightweight title. Disaster then struck for Davis, who was due to defend his WBO belt against Edwin De Los Santos, before missing weight by a huge 4.3lbs, resulting in him being stripped of his world title. His career has been discussed by many before his return on January 31, against Ortiz, was confirmed.

Ortiz has won three in a row, since losing to Teofimo Lopez, and seems confident ahead of facing Davis: “The moment this fight was offered, I said yes,” Ortiz stated. “I’ve never backed down from a challenge, and I’m not about to start now. I respect what Keyshawn has accomplished, but this is the kind of fight I’ve been waiting for, an opportunity to showcase everything I bring to the table against a top undefeated contender.”

January 31 will mark Davis’ debut at 140, and Ortiz has sent him a message:

“Fans can expect a sharp, confident, and aggressive Jamaine Ortiz on fight night,” he said. “I’ve learned from every fight and made the necessary adjustments. I’m coming into this with experience, hunger, and a game plan that’s built to win. Davis is stepping into my weight class, and he’ll find out quickly that it’s a different world at 140,” said Ortiz.
