Ex-World Champ Slams Jake Paul Ahead of June 28

On Saturday, June 28, Jake Paul vs Julio Cesar Chavez Jr (54-6-1, 34 KOs) will headline a Most Valuable Promotions card in association with Golden Boy live on DAZN PPV from the Honda Center in Anaheim. Jake Paul (11-1, 7 KOs) was last seen beating an ageing Mike Tyson, while Chavez Jr laboured to a decision win over Uriah Hall. While many are intrigued by the journey of Paul, ex-super middleweight world champion George Groves is not one of them, and he revealed his true feelings when speaking to Casino Beats.

George Groves Rips Into Jake Paul’s Boxing Career

Looking at the record of both, if Chavez has enough left, it’s difficult to see him losing. The Mexican fighter has had his trouble outside of the ring and it remains to be seen just how much ability he has left. Will Chavez roll back the years or will “El Gallo” be too fresh for the Mexican?

With Paul back in action this weekend it’s clear Groves won’t be rushing to watch: “Is Jake Paul still trying to convince people that he’s a legitimate boxer? You’re not! He’s not a legitimate boxer. You picked someone who was a professional boxer whose dad was a legend of professional boxing.

“I’m not sure how big Chavez is on the celebrity scene, how much of a famous name he is, because otherwise why have you picked him? He might as well pick someone from Love Island or something.
