Ahead of their clash on December 14, both men spoke at a press conference. Below is some of what they had to say.

Jaime Munguía vs. Bruno Surace Press Conference Quotes

Jaime Munguía

“The truth is that I feel very happy to be here with all of you,” said Munguía in Spanish. “I feel very happy to be returning to this great stadium, the Los Xolos stadium, and grateful to Caliente Group who undoubtedly made this possible…I have no doubt that Saturday is going to be a great night. We have a great fighter in front of us, who is Bruno Surace. The truth is that we have seen him. He is a strong fighter. He is an undefeated fighter, so he deserves a lot of respect…”

Bruno Surace

“I’m very happy to be here in Tijuana,” said Surace through an interpreter. “And I’ve had a great welcome. I’m very excited to fight a great boxer like Jaime and thank you all for being here.”

“This is the biggest fight of my career and I’ve trained a lot. It’s a great story that began in Marseille with my father as a child and it’s been taken on with Kaiser, my coach. We’ve been doing everything that we can to be ready for this great fight…and I’m ready for the greatest fight of my career.”

Fight Prediction

The Mexican fighter has fought several opponents of Surace’s calibre and has always come out on top. Expect a dominating performance from him in front of his hometown fans. Surace does not pack a lot of power so Munguía will throw high-volume combinations. Munguía to win within six rounds.
