Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV
After an impressive undercard, it was time for Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV for the vacant British heavyweight title.
Clarke (9-2-1, 7 KOs) started the better, landing some heavy body shots and eye-catching uppercuts, while TKV (9-2, 5 KOs) struggled to land anything of significance. The action continued in the second round, with TKV looking more comfortable in the pocket, landing a smart left hook.
An incident-packed third round saw both sit in the pocket and exchange heavy shots. TKV also deducted a point for persistent low blows. Clarke continued to apply pressure in the fourth, but the counter left was bringing joy for Tshikeva.
TKV ended the sixth round on top, landing some heavy punches. Tshikeva continued to have success with his accurate punching, while Frazer landed the heavier punches. The fight was largely messy over the next few rounds, with both men fatiguing. By the end of the tenth, both looked exhausted, but Clarke looked on his last legs.
“Big Fraze” looked exhausted towards the end of the 11th as TKV landed heavy blows; a stoppage looked likely, but somehow he made it to the bell. Both men gave it everything in the final round. Technically not a fight to remember, but it provided plenty of action, with the cleaner punches coming from TKV. The fight went to the judges’ scorecards, which read 115-113 for TKV, 115-112 for Clarke, with the final scorecard reading 115-112 for Tshikeva, crowning him the new British heavyweight champion.
Fran Hennessy vs Fabiana Bytyqi
In the penultimate fight on the Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV undercard, Fran Hennessy (7-0, 1 KO) faced Fabiana Bytyqi (22-3-2, 5 KOs), with the vacant WBC international bantamweight title on the line.
Hennessy started well, showcasing slick footwork and fast hands in the opening round, with Bytyqi struggling to close the distance. Hennessy continued to pick her punches and pivot impressively over the next couple of rounds.
Despite this being Hennessy’s first fight over 10 rounds, she paced herself well and was light on her feet, with Bytyqi unable to land a significant blow. An impressive performance from the 21-year-old, who claimed a deserved unanimous decision, with scorecards of 100-90 from all judges.
Jack Massey vs Ivan Gabriel Garcia
It was the cruiserweight division up next, with Jack Massey (23-3, 13 KOs) facing the big-punching Argentine Ivan Gabriel Garcia (10-5-1, 10 KOs).
A bright start from Massey saw Garcia suddenly land a big right hand, with the ropes only keeping Massey up, and the ref issuing a count. The second round saw Massey rock Garcia with a big left hook. But the Argentine got through the storm and landed some big punches of his own.
In the fourth round, both continued to swap bombs, when Massey landed a short left hook as Garcia came in, sending the Argentine crashing to the canvas face-first. Despite getting to his feet, the referee waved the fight off, awarding Massey the fourth-round stoppage victory.
Bobby Dalton vs Joel Kodua
Next up on the Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV undercard was English welterweight champion Bobby Dalton (11-1, 2 KOs) vs Joel Kodua (10-0, 2 KOs).
The opening round saw Dalton start brightly, but Kodua began to find his range as the first round progressed. A similar pattern continued over the next few rounds, with Dalton on the front foot, but Kodua picked his shots impressively.
In the fifth round, Kodua landed some eye-catching body shots, which seemed to slow Dalton down. Kodua landed a beautiful uppercut, bending the knees of the champion and opening a huge cut on his face. At the beginning of the seventh round, the referee and ringside doctors had a long conversation before allowing Dalton to continue.
The accurate punching from Kodua continued to impress and negate the pressure tactics of Dalton. Despite a resurgence from the champion, Kodua outworked his opponent in the final round. The fight went to the scorecards, and read 97-94, 97-93 and 98-92 all in favour of Kodua, who was crowned the new English welterweight champion.
Bradley Goldsmith vs Jordan Dujon
The first fight on the Frazer Clarke vs Jeamie TKV live prelim card saw Bradley Goldsmith (14-1, 9 KOs) face Jordan Dujon (10-6, 0 KOs) in the middleweight division.
It was a bright start from Goldsmith, who hurt Dujon and mixed his shots well throughout the opening three minutes. The Coventry fighter continued to dominate over the next few rounds, with a nasty cut opening near Dujon’s left eye.
Dujon tried to close the gap at different times, but the flicking jab from Goldsmith enabled him to control the distance effectively. He pivoted well and picked his shots well. Goldsmith showed good variety for the remainder of the fight and deserved the 79-73 victory.
