Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois: Malik Scott discusses who ‘You’ve got to favour’

On May 9, at the Co-op Live in Manchester, live on DAZN, Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois headlines a Queensberry Promotions fight card. Wardley’s WBO world heavyweight title will be up for grabs in an event billed as “don’t blink.”

Deontay Wilder’s former trainer, Malik Scott, has broken down the fight when talking to Action Network, revealing the favourite for the bout.

Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois set for May 9 showdown

Wardley (20-0-1, 19 KOs) vs Dubois (22-3, 21 KOs) is going to be a straight shootout. Wardley secured a career-best win last time out, defeating Joseph Parker. Wins over Justis Huni and Frazer Clarke have shown the one-punch knockout power that the Ipswich fighter has. Dubois also carries huge power, as seen in his domination of Anthony Joshua. Before his second defeat against Oleksandr Usyk, Dubois had beaten Jarrell Miller, Filip Hrgovic, and AJ.

Looking ahead to May 9, Scott discussed Fabio Wardley vs Daniel Dubois, and revealed his favourite for the fight when breaking it down:

“You’ve got to favour Wardley.  But Dubois is back with Don Charles, and I just think Dubois is good with Don Charles. Even though they lost against Usyk, you can’t really count that. It’s not like he went out there and got blown out by Usyk.

“It says a lot about Fabio that he’s willing to even fight Dubois, because he’s not babysitting the title that he has. He’s willing to take risks with it early on, too. It’s not like he’s had a couple of tune-ups; now he’s wanting to fight Dubois. I know Wardley’s taking on the biggest challenges that are presented to him on the biggest stages, and you’ve got to commend him for that. But I think Dubois, he’s going in as an underdog.”
