Speculation has never died regarding the potential return of Errol Spence Jr, with the fighter himself refusing to rule out a comeback. Reports have now surfaced that Errol Spence’s return is in the works for him to travel to Australia to face Tim Tszyu in the super welterweight division.

Spence (28-1, 22 KOs), a former three-belt unified welterweight champion, was considered an elite talent before he suffered a brutal stoppage loss against Terence Crawford. Before injuries, accidents and the Crawford defeat, Spence was seemingly untouchable, recording memorable wins against Kell Brook and Mikey Garcia, among others.

Despite being inactive since 2023, Spence now appears ready to pack his bags and travel to Australia to face Tszyu, as revealed by many outlets, but first by The Ring Magazine.

Dan Rafael has stated the bout would be a PBC on Prime Video pay-per-view in the United States. This would be an interesting fight, with the winner potentially putting themselves in the mix at 154 pounds, while the loser would find it difficult to return.

Tszyu (26-3, 18 KOs) suffered his first career loss against Sebastian Fundora, but came away with plenty of plaudits as he fought through a horrendous gash on his head to only lose by a split decision. Since then, the Aussie fighter has suffered damaging stoppage losses against Bakhram Murtazaliev and in the Fundora rematch, before returning to winning ways this past December against Anthony Velazquez.

Spence’s jab in his prime was among the best in the sport. He often would double-up on the jab to create openings. His body punching was also elite and often helped him drain the stamina of his opponents.

Effective up close or fighting long, Spence at his best dictated fights and dominated opponents. His ring IQ was also impressive, and if he retains much of that old ability, he will provide formidable opposition for Tszyu.

Tszyu is relentless and will keep coming forward, applying pressure. He has proven he carries plenty of power. The Aussie is great at wearing his opponents down, but he will need to get in close and let the body shots go. Tszyu has a great mentality and is as tough as they come, but Spence is at his best a level above the brave Aussie. It remains to be seen how much Spence has left.

If the fight gets made, who wins and how?
