Edgar Berlanga Reveals Bold Six-Fight Wishlist After March 8 Return

Super middleweight contender Edgar Berlanga (22-1, 27 KOs) is set to return to action on March 8 against an opponent to be confirmed. This planned return will see him in the headline slot of a Matchroom Boxing show on DAZN. This planned card will be in Puerto Rico. Following this expected tune-up fight, “The Chosen One” has identified a bold six-fight fight wishlist, which he’s revealed via his X account.

Edgar Berlanga’s Six-Fight Wishlist: What’s Next After March 8?

Key Names on Edgar Berlanga’s Six-Fight Wishlist

Berlanga was last seen in action against Canelo Alvarez, and despite a brave performance, he ultimately lost by unanimous decision (117-110 and 118-109 x2). Despite being knocked down in round three, “The Chosen One” recovered well and had his moments in the fight. He showed his toughness and earned plenty of plaudits from the boxing world.

As Berlanga prepares for his return on Match 8, he posted on his X account: “After my March 8th fight these are the next6 fights that I want in no particular order. LINE ’EM UP FOR ME: Jamie Mungia, Jermall Charlo, Caleb Plant, (Hamzah) Sheeraz, Canelo (Alvarez) rematch, Diego Pacheco.”

His March 8 opponent is still to be confirmed but it’s thought it will be a tune-up fight for the Brooklyn native as he aims to launch a world title challenge. Of the opponent’s names by Berlanga, every one of these would be intriguing. There appears to be no love lost between Berlanga and Caleb Plant and a fight between the two would be fiery.

Diego Pacheco

Pacheco is Berlanga’s Matchroom stablemate and a fight between these two would be entertaining, with both not afraid to fight fire with fire. The 23-year-old would present Berlanga with a difficult fight, due to his height and ability to control the distance.

Berlanga-Pacheco would seemingly be the easiest fight to make from Berlanga’s hit list.
