Eddie Hearn Confirms Conor Benn’s Return, Says There’s ‘No Doubt’
On November 6, 2024, Conor Benn released a statement via his X account, claiming he had been cleared following his two positive tests for the fertility drug clomifene. These tests occurred before his scheduled fight with Chris Eubank in October 2022. Following Benn’s statement, UKAD clarified the decision of the independent National Anti-Doping Panel but mentioned their right to appeal. Eddie Hearn has now spoken to the Matchroom Boxing YouTube channel and confirmed Benns return with “no doubt.”

Eddie Hearn Talks Benn Return With ‘No Doubt’
Benn said in his statement on November 6: “I am thankful that after an incredibly challenging two years the National Anti-Doping Panel has today finally cleared me of any wrongdoing.
“This past 24 months has unquestionably been the toughest fight of my life. As someone who is so passionate about boxing and an advocate for clean sport, I hope now I have been cleared it can be understood why I have maintained my innocence so strongly throughout.

“As a man of God I bear no ill will toward UKAD or the British Boxing Board of Control, we have a shared ambition of a clean sport and I look forward to reconciling with the Board and moving forward together.
“I have stayed disciplined and focused despite the challenges faced which is a testament to my desire to be great. I’m relieved to finally close this chapter and am excited to get back in the ring to realise my ultimate potential.”

Speaking to Matchroom Boxing, Hearn discussed the return of Benn, and said: “Conor Benn will return in early 2025 in a massive fight in the UK, no doubt.”
He continued: “But which way we go, were blessed.”
Chris Eubank Jr.
It’s difficult to look past Chris Eubank Jr. for the massive fight in the UK Hearn is referring to. Recently, Eubank spoke to Steve Bunce on the 5 Live Boxing Podcast about the Benn fight: “That chapter cannot be closed. That chapter is too big of a chapter. Some people would say it’s the chapter.”
He continued: “That fight will happen. I would imagine it’s going to happen in the next 12 months. As soon as he gets his licence back, as soon as he has his career back on track, that fight will be made.”
Speaking about his desire for the Benn fight, Eubank said: “The opportunity to discipline a cheat. That’s all the motivation I need.”
