Derek Chisora Reveals Ideal Final Fight Opponent
Chisora Reveals Desired Final Fight Details
Chisora was seemingly heading towards an all-action encounter against Jarrell Miller, but “Big Baby” has since revealed the fight is off due to a promotional dispute with Dmitriy Salita. This has led to the announcement being made that “War” will face the Swedish southpaw, who has only suffered two defeats in his career, with those coming against Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua.
The Finchley fighter has made it clear that he intends to bow out after his 50th bout and speaking to talkSPORT Drive, the 40-year-old revealed his ideal opponent and teased another interesting option. He spoke of an event at Royal Albert Hall and identified a trilogy fight with Dillian Whyte for that occasion. He then identified a fight against Francis Ngannou and revealed: “I want to push [for] that [fight],” Chisora said.
He continued: “If I can get Francis Ngannou in Africa for our own African people to see us perform, instead of us performing in European countries and Saudi [Arabia], it will give just a little bit of a taste to our young and upcoming talent in Africa to see African warriors go at it.”
Chisora Career Recapped
Chisora has entertained throughout his career with gutsy performances against Joseph Parker x2 and Oleksandr Usyk, having success in these fights. One of his most memorable wins came against Carlos Takam, who he memorably knocked out in round eight. His most recent win, saw him score an upset win over Joe Joyce.
He pushed Agit Kabayel all the way in 2017 – narrowly losing by a majority decision. “War” also had two all-action fights against Whyte, losing by a split decision, before being brutally knocked out in the rematch, when ahead on two of the scorecards (95-94).
“Del Boy” has entertained us since his 2007 debut, so who could begrudge him achieving everything he desires in his final two fights?
