David Benavidez reveals ‘the fights I want’ and who’s on his list

David Benavidez (30-0, 24 KOs) continues to operate at the highest level and has impressed since moving up to light heavyweight.

Since moving to his new weight, he has defeated Oleksandr Gvozdyk and David Morrell, placing Benavidez among the elite in the division.

Talking to Fight Hub TV, Benavidez revealed the two names he wants at light heavyweight. He also hinted at a possible move to cruiserweight.

David Benavidez targets two big fights at light heavyweight

“In my opinion, a fight with Beterbiev or Bivol is next. You know what I mean? If I was a different type of fighter, I’d be like, ‘You know what? I’m gonna go talk to my team and see who’s the best.’

“No, the fights I want are Beterbiev and Bivol because I want to challenge myself. I want to be the best, without a doubt. But sometimes in the business sense, things happen, and it’s a little more difficult than just making a fight happen.”

Benavidez reveals potential move to cruiserweight

Teasing a potential move to a new weight division, Benavidez said:

“But, like I said, I’m pushing myself to make the biggest and best fights happen, and if we can’t get that, then my plan is to get a fight with Zurdo Ramirez at cruiserweight.

“I’ve been calling for these big fights. I’ve been showing that I back up everything I say.”
