‘I might give him a call in the next six to seven months’ – Dana White teases move for all-time great

Terence Crawford (42-0, 31 KOs) announced his retirement as one of the most accomplished fighters of his generation. He retired as a five-division world champion and the first male three-division undisputed champion of the four-belt era.

His retirement announcement was made through a video released by The Ring Magazine, leading to a plethora of worthy tributes. Before his retirement, Crawford was stripped of his super middleweight title by the WBC due to non-payment of sanctioning fees, resulting in him losing his undisputed status. “Bud” appears to be settled in retirement, but Dana White recently spoke to TMZ Sports, praising Crawford and teasing a future call to the Omaha native.

Dana White teases future call to Terence Crawford

White was asked by TMZ if Crawford is an all-time great: “One hundred percent,” he said emphatically.

He decided to retire. I think he should be out there fighting everybody. After seeing the masterpiece he put on that night (against Canelo), he’s so good and talented. I actually like him. He’s a great guy.

Looking ahead to the future with Zuffa, and teasing a call to Terence Crawford, White said:

“We’ll put on some fights here, see how things progress and play out with the stuff that I am working on right now,” White said. “And I might give him a call in the next six to seven months.”

Terence Crawford’s legacy

Crawford has achieved what many fighters can only dream of: multiple world titles and 3x undisputed. His most impressive wins came against Errol Spence Jr. and, more recently, his victory against Canelo Alvarez.

His ring IQ was exceptional, and this helped him overcome the rare difficult moments he encountered. He was a phenomenal switch-hitter who carried fight-ending power. Crawford’s legacy will live on, but could we see him back in the future? It looks like White will roll out the red carpet for the Omaha native, should the opportunity arise.
