Boxing Schedule: Three Fights You Can’t Miss in August

2025 has provided plenty of great fights, with Oleksandr Usyk becoming 2x undisputed heavyweight champion, and Katie Taylor once again defeating Amanda Serrano. We also have several intriguing bouts still to come, and many rumoured matchups teased. Despite August being a quieter month, here are three fights to look forward to in the August boxing schedule.

Boxing Schedule: Three Fights to Look Forward to in August

Boxing Schedule: Moses Itauma vs. Dillian Whyte – August 16

The biggest fight in August is Moses Itauma (12-0, 10 KOs) vs Dillian Whyte (31-3, 21 KOs) in Riyadh. This intriguing heavyweight contest will headline an Esports World Cup Fight Week fight card. The entire card will be broadcast live on DAZN in over 200 countries.

Whyte will bring plenty of experience to the ring, and will look to ‘old man’ Itauma. The 20-year-old has dazzled so far, knocking out 10 of his 12 opponents. His devastating power was on display against Mike Balogun, scoring three knockdowns on the way to his second-round stoppage win. Since losing to Tyson Fury, Whyte has won three straight fights, though each came against opponents ranked below Itauma. “The Body Snatcher” will need to deliver a career-best performance to stop the Itauma train.

Yankiel Rivera vs. Angelino Cordova – August 23

Yankiel Rivera (7-0, 3 KOs) recently signed for Most Valuable Promotions and is now set to make his promotional debut against Angelino Cordova (19-0-1, 12 KOs) on August 23 at Caribe Royale Orlando. The bout will be shown live on DAZN and will be the biggest test of Rivera’s professional career. Rivera is an impressive counter-puncher, whose best wins have come against Andy Dominguez Velasquez, Victor Efrain Sandoval and last time out against the American Angel Gonzalez.

Jack Rafferty vs. Mark Chamberlain – August 23

The last fight on our August boxing schedule is an intriguing one, with Jack Rafferty (26-0, 17 KOs) vs Mark Chamberlain (17-1, 12 KOs), who will clash for the British and Commonwealth super lightweight titles at Planet Ice, Altrincham, live on DAZN.

Chamberlain was riding high, appearing on Riyadh Season cards as Turki Alalshikh’s favourite fighters. However, a defeat to Josh Padley derailed his momentum. He has fought once since then, beating Miguel Angel Scaringi.

Rafferty has proven to be heavy-handed and a serious threat to anyone in the super lightweight division. Chamberlain, for his part, also carries plenty of power and picks his punches impressively.
