Boxing at the Olympics: Day Eight Results Include Imane Khelif Win

The 2024 Paris Olympics are underway, and boxing is again at the leading international sporting event.

Below are the results for the eighth day of boxing at the Olympics.

Boxing at the Olympics: Day Eight Results

Session One

Abdumalik Khalokov (Uzbekistan) won on points against José Quiles Brotons (Spain). All five judges had Khalokov winning the men’s 57kg fight. With the win, Khalokov is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Charlie Senior (Australia) won on points against Carlo Paalam (The Philippines). While two judges had Paalam winning the men’s 57kg bout, the other three had it for Senior. With the win, Senior is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Omari Jones (United States) won on points against Rami Mofid Kiwan (Bulgaria). All five judges had Jones winning the men’s 71kg contest. With the win, Jones is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Asadkhuja Muydinkhujaev (Uzbekistan) won on points against Nikolai Terteryan (Denmark). All five judges had Muydinkhujaev winning the men’s 71kg clash. With the win, Muydinkhujaev is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Yu Wu (China) won on points against Chuthamat Raksat (Thailand). All five judges had Wu winning the women’s 50kg fight. With the win, Wu is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Nazym Kyzaibay (Kazakhstan) won on points against Ingrit Lorena Valencia Victoria (Colombia). While one judge had Victoria winning the women’s 50kg bout, the other four had it for Kyzaibay. With the win, Kyzaibay will win at least a bronze medal.

Janjaem Suwannapheng (Thailand) won on points against Busenaz Sürmeneli (Türkiye). While one judge had Sürmeneli winning the women’s 66kg contest, the other four had it for Suwannapheng. With the win, Suwannapheng will win at least a bronze medal.

Imane Khelif (Algeria) won on points against Anna Luca Hamori (Hungary). All five judges had Khelif winning the women’s 66kg clash. With the win, Khelif is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Yang Wenlu (China) won on points against Wu Shih-yi (Chinese Taipei). All five judges had Wenlu winning the women’s 60kg fight. As this was a semifinal, Wenlu now proceeds to the final with a chance to win a gold medal. Shih-yi ends her time at the Olympics with a bronze.

Session Two

Munarbek Seitbek Uulu (Kyrgyzstan) won on points against Jahmal Harvey (United States). While two judges had Harvey winning the men’s 57kg bout, the other three saw it for Seitbek Uulu. With the win, Seitbek Uulu is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Javier Ibanez Diaz (Bulgaria) won on points against Shudai Harada (Japan). All five judges had the men’s 57kg contest favouring Diaz. With the win, Diaz is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Lewis Richardson (Great Britain) won on points against Zeyad Eashash (Jordan). While two judges had the men’s 71kg clash for Eashash, the other three had it for Richardson. With the win, Richardson is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Marco Alonso Verde Álvarez (Mexico) won on points against Nishant Dev (India). While one judge had the men’s 71kg fight in favour of Dev, the other four had it for Verde Álvarez. With the win, Verde Álvarez is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Buse Naz Çakıroğlu (Türkiye) won on points against Pihla Kaivo-oja (Finland). All five judges had Çakıroğlu winning the women’s 50kg bout. With the win, Çakıroğlu is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Aira Villegas (The Philippines) won on points against Wassila Lkhadiri (France). While two judges saw the women’s 50kg contest in favour of Lkhadiri, the other three had it for Villegas. With the win, Villegas is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Chen Nien-chin (Chinese Taipei) won on points against Navbakhor Khamidova (Uzbekistan). All five judges had the women’s 66kg clash in favour of Nien-chin. With the win, Nien-chin is guaranteed to win a bronze medal at least.

Yang Liu (China) won on points against Oshin Derieuw (Belgium). All five judges had the women’s 66kg fight in favour of Liu. With the win, Liu is guaranteed to win at least a bronze medal.

Kellie Harrington (Ireland) won on points against Beatriz Ferreira (Brazil). While one judge had the women’s 60kg boutin favour of Ferreira, the other four had it for Harrington. As this was a semifinal, Harrington now proceeds to the final with a chance to win a gold medal. Ferreira ends her time at the Olympics with a bronze.
