Ashley Lane vs. Chris Bourke Recap

The opening round saw Lane coming forward. Bourke stayed on the back foot and moved around the ring to prevent his opponent from ever sitting down on his punches. Lane was cut above the right eye in the first round itself. Despite this, he maintained a high tempo till the end of the fight. Bourke was not as active as his opponent and struggled to keep Lane off while moving around the ring on the backfoot. This became more and more apparent as the rounds went on.

A right hand from Lane clearly stunned Bourke in round six, and the Northampton native continued throwing punches as he had been throughout the bout. Bourke got some respite when he was pushed to the canvas, but it did him little good. Lane kept the shots coming until referee Lee Every stepped in to stop the fight. The time of stoppage was 2:09 of round six.
