Anthony Joshua Teases Future Showdown with Fury or Usyk for Undisputed Glory

Anthony Joshua (28-3, 25 KOs) will face Daniel Dubois (21-2, 20 KOs) for the IBF world heavyweight title on September 21, in the main event of a Riyadh Season card at Wembley Stadium. Liam Gallagher will also be performing alongside an impressive undercard. The entire event will be available on DAZN PPV, TNT Sports PPV, PPV.com and Sky Sports Box Office. Ahead of fight night, AJ has spoken to Sky Sports about his willingness to face Tyson Fury or Oleksandr Usyk in the future.

Joshua Discusses Daniel Dubois Contest

AJ will take on Dubois for the IBF strap at Wembley Stadium on September 21, while Fury and Usyk will rematch in December for the WBC, WBA and WBO titles. When speaking to Sky Sports, Joshua was clear on if he would welcome a fight for undisputed should he win on September 21: “If they call me to fight them, 100 per cent. It’s what I do. Fight. I’ll be ready. It’ll be an honour to fight them two,” Joshua said.

He continued: “I’m not focusing on Usyk and Fury. I’ll watch it.”

Joshua seemingly remains focused on Dubois: “Let me get past Dubois. We’ll see.”

When talking about the Usyk-Fury rematch, the Watford native said: “I think Usyk wins and I’d rather Usyk wins.”

AJ and “Dynamite” have exchanged words in the build-up to their September 21 clash, with AJ threatening to smash a chair across his opponent’s face.

AJ has enjoyed success at Wembley Stadium in the past with his memorable win over Wladimir Klitschko on April 29, 2017. Speaking on his desire to fight anyone that’s put in front of him, Joshua said: “I’m just willing to fight anyone. This is my 13th world title fight. So that must mean whoever’s at that level or whoever’s going to come to that level, I’m going to have to compete with. We’re all here to do a job. We’re all here as warriors to fight each other.”

Referring to his memories of Wembley: Joshua won’t dwell on those memories though. “This is a different beast in Daniel, completely different animal. But in terms of memories, it’ll bring back memories of going to the well, not giving up, staying consistent,” he said.

He continued: “I want to do something completely different this fight.”

Joshua added: “But no emotion. A job and a mission that needs to be completed.”
