Eddie Hearn Provides Anthony Joshua Comeback Latest – ‘There Has Been An Offer’

From the moment Anthony Joshua won the 2012 Olympic gold medal in London, he has captivated the British public, who have turned out in massive numbers to fill stadiums to watch him in huge fights. Following his devastating KO loss to Daniel Dubois, many doubted whether we would see AJ again, but Eddie Hearn has appeared on the Matchroom Boxing Flash Knockdown podcast, where he has revealed the latest news regarding Joshua’s potential comeback.

Eddie Hearn Discusses Latest on AJ’s Future

Anthony Joshua’s (28-4, 25 KOs) promoter, Eddie Hearn, spoke to The Stomping Ground about the Anthony Joshua vs Jake Paul (12-1, 7 KOs) rumours: “To be honest, the focus is still very much on the Jake Paul fight. Those talks continue in an amicable and exciting fashion with MVP, and I think that’s definitely the favourite to happen next, I really do.”

AJ has also been linked with a fight in December against Tony Yoka (14-3, 11 KOs) in Africa. When speaking to the Matchroom podcast, Hearn gave the latest on AJ’s return: “I don’t think there’s any value in us saying it will be in December. He’s been travelling about a bit but he’s back in training following an elbow operation,” said Hearn.

“But these big fights take time and every AJ event is a massive event. It was well publicised about the meetings that took place in Ghana over the last couple of weeks. There has been an offer to do a fight there and I think it would be incredible for AJ to fight in Africa,” revealed Hearn.

Whether it’s Paul, Yoka, or another heavyweight, it seems likely Joshua will be back in action in early 2026.

Eddie Hearn Talks Ghana Offer and Tyson Fury Hopes

Discussing the Ghana Offer and Tyson Fury hopes:

“When you are doing site deals a lot of it depends on when the host wants to stage the show,” Hearn said. “So, if Ghana comes back and says they’d like to go in January-February, then that’s the offer. I don’t think there’s a rush, albeit he has been out of the ring for almost a year now. Any fight he has next though is likely to be a warm-up fight for that ‘roll the dice’ fight. We hope, in an ideal world, that is Tyson Fury. If not, it will be against one of the top five heavyweights.”
