Anthony Joshua delivers brutal assessment of Tyson Fury’s performance against Usyk

Anthony Joshua is preparing to face Jake Paul on December 19 at the Kaseya Center in Miami. Ahead of that bout, Joshua has appeared on the Mr. Verzace Podcast alongside host Rick Reeno and Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn.

When speaking about Fury, Joshua dismissed “The Gypsy King” as being his focus before delivering a scathing assessment of Fury’s performance in the first fight against Usyk.

Anthony Joshua Slams Tyson Fury’s performance vs Oleksandr Usyk

Earlier in the week Joshua was asked about potentially going easy on Paul, and he said: “if I can kill you, I’ll kill”. This comment drew criticism from Tyson Fury, who called his fellow Brit a “classless loser.”

When appearing on Rick Reeno’s podcast, AJ was dismissive of looking ahead to a potential 2026 fight with Fury, before Reeno asked AJ of his assessment of Fury’s performance against Usyk. Referring to Usyk vs Fury 1:

“He nearly got knocked out. I wish Usyk caught him with one more shot. I was like, ‘Come on please.’ I was like on the edge of the seat throwing the punch. I wish Usyk knocked him out — he needs to be humbled. I swear if I ever get the opportunity, I’ll make sure I’ll lay him flat on his back,” said Joshua.
