British boxing remains revered worldwide, with many talented fighters competing at the highest level across various weight classes.

Throughout the years, Britain has produced many great fighters, including Lennox Lewis, Joe Calzaghe, and Ken Buchanan, among many others.

The new generation are now here, with many coming through, and in an exclusive interview with Pundit Arena, former cruiserweight world champion Tony Bellew revealed the seven fighters he’s tipping to carry the torch for British boxing.

British boxing appears to be experiencing a resurgence with a crop of young fighters coming through, and Bellew named three more established boxers, but also some more prospects who he tips for a bright future:

“Dalton Smith, Adam Azim, Ben Whittaker, that kid’s got it. I think Jack Turner is one to watch. Jack Turner is a very, very bright boy. I like the look of George Liddard, I do like the look of Cameron Vuong, there are a number of fighters that I like.

“The young girl who’s only had one pro fight, she’s going to be the face of a female boxing, she’s fighting this weekend but believe you me, she’s going to be big, she’s going to be the face of women’s boxing and she’s only had one pro fight. I don’t care what anyone says, she’s the next Katie Taylor, she’s the next Clarissa Shields, she’s going to eat everyone alive.

British boxing: Bellew Praises Tia-Mai Ayton

“I don’t know why I’m saying this after one pro fight (interview done before Ayton’s second pro fight) but I just watched the way she moved and the way she put her shots together, and I just thought, wow, okay, you are the one. I haven’t seen a fighter do that or look like this in a long time, she’s outstanding.

“Tia-Mai Ayton, she’s the one, believe you me, just sit back, enjoy the ride because she’s going to start now and I promise you, in two years’ time, she will be the face of female boxing.”

British boxing continues to produce a litany of great fighters, and the next crop looks ready to carry the torch. Who do you think is the best British fighter?
