Terence Crawford still waiting on Welterweights
Undefeated WBO welterweight champ Terence Crawford while during this pandemic like so many others is waiting this out before he gets back into the ring.
Speaking with Talksport recently, Crawford laid out the list of current fighters he wanted to face with names such as Manny Pacquiao, Shawn Porter, Kell Brook, Keith Thurman and Yordenis Ugas.
“Everything will happen in good time. I believe that all those fights that I want and the fans want, we’ll get to see,” Crawford told TalkSport. “That’s what I’m in the sport of boxing for, to take on the biggest and baddest challenges … I wanna fight all the big names at the end of the day and that’s what I’ve been calling for since I came into the welterweight division.
“They can’t avoid me forever. But at the same time it’s a business, they wanna keep everything in-house and they have the right to do so. But at the end of the day, they’re gonna have to see Terence Crawford.”

If those names mentioned all looked familiar, well it’s because they are the same ones that have been floated around for a while. It will definitely be a wait and see who emerges out of this list but the one match up that I’d like to see out of all of those names is Yordenis Ugas. I written last month on how Ugas would like that matchup as well and out of all the names that were listed, is the most likely at this current stage of available welterweights.
For Crawford, Ugas makes the most sense. Thurman, who is still recovering from his hand injury, is still like so many others chasing down Manny Pacquiao for a rematch to their fighr last July. Pacquiao holds his own cards and hasn’t really soken out on who he wants to face next, so it’s anyone’s guess on who until then.
Spence who is still recovering from an automobile accident last October, is still expected to take on Danny Garcia in a contest that was slated after his win to Shawn Porter and is back on again. Brook was floated around as a “Plan-B” option last year if a fight with Spence wouldn’t materialize. That fight for Crawford hasn’t and neither will Brook which leads all signs back at Ugas whenever the pandemic lets fans back in the stands.
