Teofimo Lopez (20-1, 13 KOs) and Steve Claggett (38-7-2, 26 KOs) will meet at the James L. Knight Center in Miami, FL on June 29. Fight fans in the United States can catch the action live on ESPN, ESPN+ and ESPN Deportes. Sky Sports will broadcast the event in the United Kingdom and Ireland, while those in Canada can do so on TSN. The fight will be for Lopez’s WBO super lightweight title. Ahead of his second title defence, Bob Arum has hinted at what could come next for The Takeover.

Bob Arum Hints What Could be Next

Lopez was last seen earlier this year when he muddled through, defeating Jamaine Ortiz. His Canadian opponent defeated Marcos Gonzalez Barraza in his last contest and is on a nine-fight winning streak.

Arum spoke to Sky Sports about a potential fight against WBC ‘champion in recess’ Devin Haney, after his controversial no-contest bout against Ryan Garcia. A fight between Lopez and Haney would be a huge unification fight and one that would surely interest many in the world of boxing: “There are a lot of 140lb champions who would make really goodmatches for Lopez,” Arum said.

He continued: “There’s Devin Haney – he and Haney would make a great fight.”

Speaking on potential huge fights, Arum said: “There is a lot of activity in those weight divisions and if Teofimo comes through, he has a lot of big fights in front of him.”
